COMMUNITY The hamlet of Withrow is located between Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House Alberta, Canada. The quaint village is surrounded by farms and acreages. Farming and oilfield make up the basis of much of the local economy.
HISTORY Withrow Gospel Mission began with a small building in the early 1930s. Then in the mid 1950s a school house was moved on to the property and was used for a school for 2 years. The local school division then sold the school to the church when the David Thompson School was built in 1957. In 1990 a new facility was constructed and presently seats 150 with overflow capacity to 250. A new children's church building was added in 2005-2006. This 4800 sq ft facility serves our children's ministry.
WORSHIP LIFE Over the years the primary doctrinal influence in Withrow Gospel Mission has been from pentecostal type ministries. Pastors from the Apostolic Church of Pentecost, as well as from the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada have served Withrow Gospel Mission, often sharing pastorates between Withrow and Diamond Valley. The present pastor, Brian Allan, is affiliated with the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies, which also has it's roots in the pentecostal movement that began at the turn of the 20th century. The Church became affiliated with the F.C.A. in 1993. So, our church style of worship and practise is Pentecostal / charismatic. We seek to allow the power and freedom of the Holy Spirit to flow in our worship services.
PURPOSE Our mission is to help people be reconciled to God in every aspect of their life. We believe in the core purpose of relationship with God and relationship with each other, which includes helping those who have not yet found the Lord Jesus Christ, to come into a relationship with Him.
Our Priorities as a Church are to:
